SFSuspect06-03-10.jpgDavid Mark Clark isn’t the only high-profile person expected in court tomorrow: Pedro Hernandez, the man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old family member at at Sanchez Elementary School, is expected to be arraigned Thursday morning, a DA’s office spokesperson said.

Hernandez was arrested last week in a local homeless shelter after an international manhunt a school employee caught Hernandez allegedly sexually assaulting his step-granddaughter in the Mission District school’s stairwell on June 3.

Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said Hernandez arrived at the school to bring lunch to the girl and a female school district employee saw him “being overly affectionate toward the victim” and became suspicious.

Esparza said Hernandez allegedly assaulted the girl in the stairwell multiple times and the acts were recorded on a video surveillance camera.

Hernandez is charged with 7 felony counts, including 1 count of continuous sexual abuse
of a minor, 3 counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under 10, 3 counts of sexual penetration or oral copulation with a child for an incident. His arraignment is scheduled for 9 AM Thursday.
