howweird.jpgOther than the massive service cuts Muni will implement starting Saturday, the SFMTA only foresees one impediment to your weekend transit and traffic: the How Weird Street Fair, held on Sunday, May 9 from noon to 8 p.m. This year’s theme: “Bollyweird: The Cosmic Dance.” Somebody get me some kombucha!

No, really, it sounds perfectly swell, check out their site for the scoop on the shenanigans, including an attempt at creating the world’s largest Bollywood dance.

The MTA tells us that the festival will take place on Howard Street from New Montgomery to First Street. They expect heavy pedestrian traffic, with an anticipated attendance of 9-10,000 people. They’re encouraging attendees to take Muni (what’s left of it, I guess) to the event.

Street Closures: Howard Street between 1st and 3rd Streets; 2nd Street between Mission and Folsom Streets.

The following Muni routes will be affected:
10 Townsend
12 Folsom Pacific
76 Marin Headlands
