5/7: Just in case you missed this two weeks ago — Muni’s schedule changes officially go into effect Saturday, May 8. Don’t forget to check out the revised schedules, hours, and frequencies of your lines, below.
The SFMTA has sent us a couple of releases reminding us that things will get just a little bit shittier for Transit users in May.
Discount passes for senior, youth and people with disabilities has increased from $15 to $20 earlier this month, and on May 1 the MTA will start charging you a $2.50 “processing fee” (they also call it a “transaction fee,” but, let’s face it, it’s just a fee) of $2.50 for online payments of citations, purchases of Muni passes and parking cards sales.
Then on May 8 we have the dreaded service cuts. Here’s a copy of the Muni’s official Reduced Frequency And Shorter Hours brochure to print and save or upload to your phone or whatever. In any case, take a look at it to see how your lines’ hours and frequency have changed. Do I sound bummed? I feel bummed.
Update: Muni resent their release with service cut information, this time attaching a chart comparing the old service with the new. There’s no way we can replicate this in any legible fashion, but you can look at the entire chart here. How much will this change your commute?
