sfpd_squad.jpgA man was attacked and robbed in Francisco’s Mid-Market neighborhood on Monday afternoon, police said.

The robbery was reported around 2 p.m. Monday near Market and Seventh streets.

The 24-year-old victim was walking when a suspect approached him from behind and punched him on the side of the head, according to police.

When the victim fell to the ground, the suspect took his wallet and cash and ran away, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for the broken jaw and is expected to survive.

No information was immediately available about the suspect, who remains at large, according to police.
