rob-lowe-cover[1].jpgThe Rob-Lowe-starring-movie “Knife Fight” has been captivating local media, letting the Ex’s Mike Koozmin in on their Millenium Tower shoot, and sucking in at least one student reporter at a Mission doughnut shop. The next step seems logical: casting reporters in the movie, itself.

The movie, which reportedly “deals with the dark side of political operatives,” (is there another side? Seriously, I want to know) recently cast, says the Peninsula Press Club, the SJ Merc’s Dana Hull, Dan Morain of the Sacramento Bee, and San Francisco’s own Carla Marinucci in the film.

According to Morain, the scribes were part of a group of unpaid extras portraying “a gaggle of ‘reporters,'” with Hull even yelling out some questions during the press-centric scene.

The Chron’s Marinucci also participated in the scene involving “a Kentucky gubernatorial campaign in which the challenger is a former baseball player,” said Morain.

Marinucci, herself an award-winning videographer for the Chron’s “Shaky Hand Productions” videos that appear on their politics blog, is no stranger to the intersection of politics and filmmaking — as you might recall, she was reportedly (the White House disagrees with this account) bounced from the White House press pool after taking video of a protest at a fundraiser for President Obama.

No word yet on if Marinucci caught any unauthorized video of Rob Lowe, who, as you might recall, is himself no stranger to productions of the shaky hand variety.
