Memorial Vigil Planned For SF Media Exec Allegedly Killed By Psychic Dice Expert

As even more details emerge in the shooting death of a San Francisco man, a vigil has been planned in his honor.

Robert Graves, 66, was charged Monday with murder and a personal use of a firearm allegation for the shooting death of 24-year-old Geoffrey Greer.

According to police, the shooting followed a dispute at 2:30 AM Saturday at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue.

The Ex reports that Greer was a senior associate at media agency MEC, and points us to Greer’s LinkedIn page, which says he graduated from Cal Poly in 2011.

Greer’s alleged killer is the author of a book entitled The Art of Psychic Dice, the Ex reports.

According to the book’s website, “Art Of Psychic Dice is your step-by-step guide to the relationship between psychokinetic energy and casino craps.”

On the book’s website, Graves describes himself as a “100% red-blooded Midwestern hick from Iowa and Illinois” and as “a writer and consultant in the San Francisco Bay area.”

Graves made his initial appearance in court this afternoon but declined to enter a plea, district attorney’s spokesman Alex Bastian said. He was ordered held on $3 million bail and will return to court on Thursday morning,

At publication time, police and prosecutors were not releasing any other details about a possible motive in the case.

The Ministry for Victims and Families of Violent Crime of the Archdiocese of San Francisco will conduct a prayer service for Greer on Thursday, April 18 at 1:30 PM on the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue.

Father Mike Quinn of St. Brendan Church and Father John Itzaina, SDB of St. Peter and Paul church will conduct the service, which is open to the public.
