Robert Graves Identified As Suspect In Nob Hill Slaying

5:13 PM: A man arrested for a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood over the weekend has been charged with murder and could be arraigned as soon as Tuesday, prosecutors said today.

Robert Graves, 66, has been charged with murder and a personal use of a firearm allegation for the shooting at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue, district attorney’s office spokesman Alex Bastian said.

Officers arrived to find 24-year-old Geoffrey Greer shot to death, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that Graves and Greer were involved in a dispute before the shooting, but police today were not releasing any other details about a possible motive in the case.

Bastian said Graves could be arraigned as soon as Tuesday afternoon on the charges in San Francisco Superior Court.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

They arrived to find 24-year-old Geofrey Greer, of San Francisco, shot to death, according to police.

Witnesses told investigators that the suspect and victim were involved in a dispute before the shooting, police said.

Graves, a San Francisco resident, has been arrested in connection with the killing and has been booked into jail on suspicion of murder.
