The San Francisco medical examiner’s office today identified a 20-year-old man who was shot and killed Saturday in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood.

Larry Lacy was sitting with a man on the sidewalk at the corner of Turk and Taylor streets at about 3:20 p.m. when the man shot him several times and ran, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Lacy was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.

Police are still trying to determine what transpired prior to the shooting and are asking for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (415) 575-4444 or text an anonymous tip to tip411.

The shooting was the city’s first homicide of the year, Esparza said.
