We’re so happy to hear that everyone’s TransLinky BART trip this morning was a pleasant one. We only heard of one glitch, a rider who was charged a BART fare thought he was a FastPass holder — but he contacted TL, got it worked out, and has been trouble free since then.
One question we have gotten is if BART’s High Value tickets work with your TransLink. And our understanding is that, yes, they will — but only if you have your TransLink card linked (heh) to a credit card.
Says a TL/BART rider who does this:
If you swipe through on the EZ Rider BART card (which requires a credit card for activation), it automatically bills you in $45 installments, and you get $48 in credit. No problem. But for the TransLink, if you’re on commuter checks, you don’t get a credit card, you just put the money onto the card, which is fine. So now BART is claiming they can’t give you the discount if you don’t have your TransLink hooked up to a credit card.
Not being a High Value person myself, does this answer your High Value questions, or do you have any others? Let us know, either in the comments or by email, and have a great BART/TransLink ride home.
