In Another CountryOpera Plaza Cinemas
Three different stories about three different French women named Anne, each of whom is visiting South Korea, and each of whom is played by the same actress, Isabelle Huppert. Confused? Get ready for even more confusion! It’s a French actress in her first English-language movie, directed by South Korea’s inimitable Hong Sang-soo (go see Hahaha if you haven’t!). All that said, this movie looks several shades of delightful — charm without fussiness, and smarts without banging you over the head. In this current cinema wasteland, it’s a gem! Go, go, go!

I bet there’s lots of feature length films you wish you could say that about!

FIlm Noir Weekend!Castro
Man in the Dark, The Chase, The Window — Film noir classics being played all weekend, if you’re vintage like that. Hell, since most everything new in the theaters is crap, you might as well go get cultured? If you hate them, well, you can always go to Harvey’s and get drunk.
