Appealing Events: Yoni Wolf at Bottom of the Hill

East Bay hero and rap rocker Yoni Wolf is headed across the Bay for a solo show at Bottom of the Hill. The Why? frontman’s prolific output includes four full albums with the group, countless EPs, and further deviations in hip-hop with supergroup Clouddead. He’ll be bringing those tunes and more this Thursday, May 15.

A quick listen of Why?’s “Waterlines” is a perfect primer of the many idiosyncratic influences Wolf draws from. Where else can you find a harp acting as the backing track to a bit of rhythm and poetry? In addition to spitting rhymes, Wolf is a prolific producer, having worked with countless MCs including opener and tourmate Serengeti on 2011’s Family & Friends. Expect quite a bit of collaboration and experimentation from the two.
