Activists and community members who oppose the Keystone XL pipeline project are protesting in San Francisco this morning.

Demonstrators planned to meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Ferry Building and will march to the State Department offices at 1 Market St., according to organizers with the group XL Dissent.

The protesters are urging President Obama to consider the environmental impacts of the pipeline, which would extend from Canada to Texas.
