Some Bay Area airports have canceled flights today because of a big ice storm in Texas.

At San Francisco International Airport, 12 flights in and out of the airport have been canceled because of the storm in the Southwest, airport officials said.

Nine American Airlines flights heading in and out of Mineta San Jose International Airport have been canceled throughout the day, airport spokesman Rosemary Barnes said.

The airline offers flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and San Jose, she said.

Four departing flights and five arriving flights were canceled, she said.

At Oakland International Airport, no flights have been canceled, airport officials said.

There have been delays up to 30 minutes on some airlines because of bad weather in the Southwest region, an airport operations employee said.
