Airports in Oakland and San Francisco are reporting flight delays and cancellations this morning due to heavy fog.

San Francisco International Airport has had around nine departure cancellations and 10 arrival cancellations this morning, mostly on shorter-distance flights, according to an airport official.

Delays are averaging around 90 minutes and are expected to continue until around 1 p.m., the official said.

Oakland International Airport has also seen a few cancellations and delays of up to two hours, spokeswoman Kim Domerofski said.

The delays vary by airline and flight. Travelers are advised to check with their airlines before arriving at the airport.

Domerofski noted that the weather appeared to be improving as of late this morning.
