A one-alarm fire damaged a residential building in San Francisco’s Bayview District this afternoon, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported at 2:19 p.m. at 1730 Oakdale Ave.

The fire apparently started in the basement of the building, which contains multiple residential units, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 2:40 p.m., Talmadge said.

No injuries were reported in the fire, she said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
