What do you get when you mix epic soundscapes, distorted guitar, and themes of nature and spirituality? Amazingly, something far better than a hippie busker half-asleep in DoPa. Known for their highly energetic performances and equally engrossing songs to match, the Joy Formidable have struck gold once more with the release of their critically acclaimed Wolf’s Law.

Released in Janaury, Wolf’s Law draws from an entirely isolated recording experience in Casco, Maine, where the band holed up to write their follow-up to their debut album, The Big Roar. The Welsh trio are currently touring in support of Wolf’s Law and are set to hit The Fillmore this Friday.

They bring with them buzzworthy bands Fort Lean and Guards, who just released their highly anticipated debut album last month. Brooklyn’s Fort Lean are hard at work expanding their ever-growing offering of EPs and (I hope) looking towards releasing an LP of their own. I mean, c’mon Fort Lean, give us the goods already.

Come for the Fillmore’s traditionally awesome free poster and stay for a great night of music. Tickets are just $25 and doors open at 9pm.
