BAS.jpgBroke-Ass Stuart wants you to think inside the (costume) box. The SFian icon is turning his life mantra into a monthly event at The Showdown. The Costume Box Dance Party takes a cue from that irreverent hobo you see walking the Mission who just can’t decide between pants, shorts, a sundress, and a cowboy hat. It’s a themed costume party with no real theme.

According to the flyer (MY EYES!), music will be provided by DJ Sonny Phono, who will be playing “no theme super dance jams.” The event is clearly committed to its core values. Add in free sandwiches from Ike’s Place and cookies from Hey Cookie and you’ve got a party on your hands.

Find yourself without weird enough clothes or the courage to ask that aforementioned hobo where he got his? The Showdown’s got you covered with their very own costume box. For more information and to RSVP, head to their facebook event page here.

Once you get there, check in with unofficial sponsor Yelp and tell them SFAppeal sent you. Then try to make sense of the fact that they’ve not only got a Yelp Mobile California Bear named Moe but that he’ll also be in attendance.
