I love the look of heels. My legs are short and curvy so heels lengthen the look of them quite a bit, but that’s not the only reason I wear heels. I also wear them because of the pain.

High heels hurt, don’t let anyone lie to you. People who say they don’t hurt either have very beneficial nerve damage or are just good at dealing with the pain. I’m good at dealing with the pain because it makes me feel extra enabled.

It’s like they say about Ginger Rogers, not only did she do every thing Fred Astaire did, she did it backwards and in heels.

To me walking around in heels is like doing a one handed push up. It say’s “I got this, I’ve got it so much that I can do it with one, figurative, hand tied behind my back.”

This self hurting behavior of mine is probably indicative of some sort of mental problem, or a ginormous chip on my shoulder, but I can’t carry a mental health professional with me into every situation so instead I just notice the pain my high heels are causing me and let it make me feel strong.
