A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run in San Francisco on Friday evening, a police spokesman said today.
The collision was reported around 6:05 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Turk and Lyon streets.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was walking across the street outside of the crosswalk when a two-door silver vehicle struck her, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The woman suffered severe head trauma and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for the injuries, which are considered life-threatening, Shyy said.
The vehicle fled and had not been found as of this afternoon, according to Shyy. He said the car should have damage on its front left end.
