shooting_nighttime.jpgA man remains at large after robbing another man at gunpoint in San Francisco’s Merced Heights neighborhood Monday night, a police spokesman said.

A man in his 20s was walking east on Holloway Avenue near Head Street, close by his home, when he was approached from behind by a man with a gun at about 10:45 p.m., Officer Albie Esparza said.

The suspect, a 5-feet-10-inch, 150-pound black man in his 20s, put the gun to the victim’s head and demanded his stuff, Esparza said.

The victim turned around and faced the suspect, who was pointing the gun at his head, Esparza said. He gave the gunman his backpack, laptop, MP3 player, wallet, cards and money, the officer said.

The gunman then walked away east on Holloway Avenue, Esparza said.

The robbery was reported 45 minutes later, at 11:30 p.m., he said.

There are no leads on the whereabouts of the gunman, who was last seen wearing black baggie clothing with either a hooded sweatshirt or beanie cap, Esparza said.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, Esparza said.
