wave.jpgRepairs to an underground water pipe in San Francisco’s Sunset District should be completed by 5 p.m., according to the city’s Public Utilities Commission.

Crews responded around noon to the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Ortega Street, where a 1-inch service line began leaking water down Ninth Avenue, according to SFPUC spokeswoman Suzanne Gautier.

SFPUC crews are still investigating what caused the leak. There were no reports of damage, and Gautier could not confirm whether water service was disrupted by the incident.

Police said that Ninth Avenue was shut down between Ortega and Pacheco streets because of the leak.
