sfpd_squad.jpgA man was critically injured when someone slashed his throat on Sixth Street in San Francisco early this morning, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 12:50 a.m. at Sixth and Mission streets.

Officers responded and found the 59-year-old victim with a cut to his neck. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for his wound, which was considered life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect, believed to be a man in his 50s, had not been found as of this morning, police said.
