sfpd_squad.jpgA female driver hit a parked car in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood this morning and then fled in a cab, a San Francisco police officer said.

The hit-and-run was reported at 6:11 a.m. in the 400 block of O’Farrell Street, which is near Taylor, San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The driver hit the parked vehicle, then exited her car and left the area in a cab, leaving her car behind, Shyy said.

The female driver was only described as white and wearing red pants.

Police contacted the cab company that escorted the suspect away from the accident and the cab driver returned to the scene and was cooperating with police.

Shyy said investigators are working to determine if the abandoned car belonged to the driver or if it was possibly stolen.
