policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was stabbed by an intruder at his apartment in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 10:52 p.m. in the first block of 12th Street, which is near Market.

The 52-year-old victim was watching television in his apartment when a man kicked in the front door, took out a knife and cut the victim several times, according to police.

The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, then fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries to his neck, shoulder and hand. The wounds are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said no other details about the case were immediately available.
