muni_driver.jpg11:56 AM: A man who became trapped under a San Francisco Municipal Railway streetcar on Market Street this morning apparently fell when he attempted to board while the vehicle was still moving, a Muni spokesman said.

The rider fell under the inbound F-Market & Wharves streetcar at Seventh and Market streets shortly before 10 a.m., Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The victim, a male, was transported to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, Rose said.

Buses carried passengers between 11th Street and the Ferry Building until the accident was cleared from the area shortly after 11 a.m.

The driver has been put on non-driving status while the incident is investigated, which is standard Muni policy, Rose said.
