handcuffs.jpgA 19-year-old San Francisco man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District in March, police announced today.

40-year-old San Francisco resident Ronald Monzon was shot as he was driving on Shotwell Street around 7:20 p.m. on March 9.

Monzon crashed his car into several other cars on Shotwell at 23rd streets before he was taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds.

Monzon later died at San Francisco General Hospital.

“Following up on leads, tips and evidence,” SFPD said in a press release, “Inspectors developed information that led to the identity and arrest” of 19 year old Anthony Lacayo.

Lacayo was arrested at 8:55 PM Tuesday at 850 Bryant St., which is the address for the Hall of Justice.

He was booked into San Francisco County jail (where he remains at publication time) and is facing a homicide charge for the death of 40-year-old San Francisco resident Ronald Monzon.
