shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was shot while standing on a street corner in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, police said today.

The shooting was reported at 1:29 p.m. in the 1000 block of Oakdale Avenue.

The 21-year-old victim told police he was standing on the corner when shots were fired at him from an unknown direction, striking him in the upper body, according to police.

The victim was loaded into a car by friends and taken to the 1200 block of Ingalls Avenue, where they flagged down a patrol car for assistance. The victim was then taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not life-threatening, police said.

The victim is not cooperating with investigators, and no information about the shooter was immediately available except that a silver car may have been used in the shooting, police said.
