earthquake.jpgA total of four small earthquakes shook the area north of Morgan Hill this morning, marking five earthquakes in the area in the last 24 hours, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The most recent was recorded at 2:42 a.m. around 9 miles north of the city.

That earthquake followed two consecutive earthquakes recorded shortly after 1 a.m. in roughly the same area, a magnitude 2.7 followed less than a minute later by a magnitude 2.1.

At 1:27 a.m., a magnitude 1.3 earthquake was recorded there as well.

On Tuesday morning, another magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded at 6:39 a.m. eight miles north of Morgan Hill.
