sffd_officials.jpgA fire spread from a car to a home’s exterior in San Francisco’s Mission District Friday night, according to San Francisco fire officials.

The fire at 1258 S. Van Ness Ave. was reported at 8:18 p.m., fire officials said.

The single-alarm fire started as a car fire in the home’s driveway. The flames then migrated onto the exterior of the house, according to fire officials.

The blaze was under control by 8:26 p.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Residents were able to return to the home, fire officials said.
