sffd_firefighters.jpgFirefighters have contained a fire at a building in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood this evening.

The fire burned in the area of O’Farrell and Jones streets, a dispatcher said.

According to the fire chief’s office, the fire was contained as of 5:30 p.m. and affected a possibly abandoned building.

A person answering the phones at the chief’s office said that a preliminary search of the building indicated no one was inside at the time of the fire.
