The San Mateo County coroner’s office has identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on southbound U.S. Highway 101 Thursday evening.
Charles Gomez, 45, of San Francisco, was killed in the crash that was reported around 5 p.m. on Highway 101 near East Poplar Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The response to the accident blocked southbound lanes for hours.
The lanes reopened around 7:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
