More than 8,000 PG&E customers are without power in parts of San Francisco and Daly City this evening, a utility spokeswoman said.

pg&e_blackout(2).jpg8:24 PM: Thousands of PG&E customers in San Francisco and Daly City have had their power restored tonight after an outage that appears to have been caused by a broken utility pole.

About 8,713 customers were impacted by the outage, which was reported at 5:58 p.m., PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

Morris said 72 customers remained without power tonight and their service was expected to be restored by 4 a.m.

The outage was reported at 5:58 p.m. and is impacting 8,713 customers in Daly City and the Saint Francis Wood and West Portal neighborhoods of San Francisco, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

No estimated time for restoration was available and the cause is under investigation.
