Jarrett Earl Campbell, 41, was arrested in Oakland on Tuesday in connection with the death of 42-year-old David Hutching, according to police.
Hutching was critically injured in a beating in front of a home in the 400 block of Ellis Street the night of Oct. 14. He was found unconscious and bleeding from a large cut to his head and was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Oct. 26, police said.
Campbell, who is also being charged with battery causing serious bodily injury, has two prior strikes for robbery convictions in San Francisco, district attorney’s office spokesman Omid Talai said.
He will be arraigned on the involuntary manslaughter and battery charges this afternoon at the San Francisco Hall of Justice, Talai said.
