BikeLane.jpgA 12-year-old boy had his bike stolen at gunpoint in San Francisco’s Alice Griffith public housing complex over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

The robbery occurred around 6 p.m. Sunday near Cameron and Nichols ways in the city’s Bayview District.

Officers met with the boy and his mother, who had called police to report the theft, according to police.

The boy said he was riding his bike when two suspects approached and asked him to stop.

When he did, one of the suspects pulled out a silver handgun while the other lifted his shirt to show a black handgun in his waistband, police said.

The suspects demanded that the boy hand over the bike and he complied. The boys took off with the bike, heading north on Cameron Way while the victim ran home. He was not injured in the robbery, according to police.

The alleged thieves had not been found as of Wednesday. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
