obamastateoftheunion.jpgAs the Presidential election approaches, our calendar of campaign fundraisers continues to fill. Earlier this month we had a local-sports-botching Vice-Presidential visit, and next month, the President and his wife are expected in San Francisco.

According to SFist, both will be in town on February 16th for a fundraising dinner and reception at the home of local author Robert Mailer Anderson and his wife Nicola Miner.

Former SF mayor and Chronicle columnist Willie Brown confirms SFist’s report, noting that the Anderson-Miner home features “a full-size, indoor basketball court, in case Obama wants to unwind with some hoops.”

According to Brown’s colleagues Matier and Ross, the dinner at the basketball court/Pac Heights mansion will be a $35,800-a-head affair for 50 guests. They say the dinner will be followed by a larger reception “at a yet-to-be-decided public venue,” with tickets ranging from $100 to $10,000.

According to SFist, the Obamas’ visit is part of a three-day West Coast tour that will also feature appearances in LA and Seattle.

President Obama was last in SF on October 25, for a $5000-per-person fundraiser at the W hotel.
