booze.jpgAccording to SFPD, arrests during the holiday drunk driving crackdown period are at the highest they’ve been in three years — and it’s not over yet, with more DUI checkpoints planned for this Friday.

Last weekend marked the beginning of SF’s annual holiday DUI enforcement period, during which 28 were taken into custody for the crime, according to SFPD.

This time last year, only 21 were nabbed for drunk driving, and only 17 were caught two years ago.

And more arrests are probably in the works, as another sobriety checkpoint will be in place on The Embarcadero at Washington St. this Friday from 8:30pm to 3am.

As always, remember to celebrate whichever winter holiday you get down with responsibly, lest you become one of many hit with DUIs instead of presents.
