SFBayBridge.jpgThe San Francisco medical examiner’s office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who died late last month.

The man, believed to be in his mid 20s to early 30s, was seen jumping from the south side of the Bay Bridge just before the Harrison Street/Embarcadero off-ramp, according to the medical examiner’ office.

He is described as a white man who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 225 pounds. He had brown, recently shaved hair and hazel eyes, a small mole on his left cheek and patchy facial hair.

The man was wearing a black, short-sleeved T-shirt with “OSL” printed on the front left chest, underscored by “OSUOSL.ORG” and the statement “IT’S ABOUT COMMUNITY” printed on the back of the shirt.

OSUOSL is the Oregon State University Open Source Lab, which was contacted and said the facility hosts a variety of open-source software projects and gives out the shirts to convention attendees from around the world, according to the medical examiner’s office.

He was also wearing medium-blue “Sendy” denim jeans, a worn black leather dress belt, white bikini brief underwear and a pair of brown “Dexter” fisherman-style, closed-toe sandals with Velcro straps.

“Sendy” is a brand of jeans based in Sarajevo, Bosnia.

The cause of the man’s death remains under investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the medical examiner’s office at (415) 553-1694.
