shooting_nighttime.jpgA woman was cut by shards of glass when someone shot at her car in San Francisco’s Ingleside neighborhood on Wednesday night, police said.

The shooting was reported at 9:28 p.m. near the intersection of Plymouth and Lakeview avenues.

The 41-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were driving when a man on the sidewalk fired several shots into the car, according to police.

The shooting broke at least one of the car’s windows, and the woman suffered cuts to her arms from the broken glass, police said. No other injuries were reported.

After driving to the Police Department’s Ingleside Station to report the shooting, she was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, ran away after the shooting and had not been found as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
