Police responded to reports of a shooting at Francisco Street, between Taylor and Mason streets, at around 9:40 p.m.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, was walking home when she heard rapid gunshots and realized she had been shot in the back, police said.

She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Information regarding suspects was not immediately available.
