The robbery was reported at about 2:25 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 16th and Mission streets.

The attacker took the woman’s purse and ran away. She had not been found as of today, police said.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the beating. She is expected to survive.
