A woman had her purse snatched during an attack in San Francisco’s Mission District early Wednesday, police said.
The robbery was reported at about 2:25 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 16th and Mission streets.
The 54-year-old victim was walking in the area when a female suspect approached her from behind, pulled the woman’s sweater over her head, and began punching and hitting her with some sort of hard object, according to police.
The attacker took the woman’s purse and ran away. She had not been found as of today, police said.
The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the beating. She is expected to survive.
