shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was seriously injured in a shooting in San Francisco’s Bayview District early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Third Street and Gilman Avenue.

Four men in their 20s were driving on Third Street and turned onto Gilman Avenue when someone ran up to their car and opened fire, according to police.

One of the people in the car, a 23-year-old man, was hit by the gunfire. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
