money.jpgA Wells Fargo bank in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset neighborhood was robbed on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the bank, located at 725 Irving St.

The suspect, described as a man in his 50s, entered the bank and approached a teller while simulating that he had a handgun, although no weapon was seen, according to police.

The man demanded money from the teller, a 26-year-old woman who complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The man then fled the bank and had not been found as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message at TIP411.

Isn’t it funny how all our reactions are “I was just there!”?

The first thing I thought was that, too, and how I had just deposited some big checks in the Appeal’s account Tuesday night*.

Which I guess doesn’t matter, because who steals checks, but, you know.

*after going to Craw Station, which was pretty good, have you guys tried it?
