What: Rainbow Grocery 20% Off Day
When: Tuesday, June 8, 9 AM-9 PM
Where:
Rainbow Grocery, 1745 Folsom at 13th Street

Appeal contrib Laura Beck reminds us at both vegansaurus and SFoodie that today’s “Customer Appreciation Discount Day” at Rainbow Grocery means “20% OFF EVERYTHING!” in the entire 36-year-old co-op.

The store used to place 20% coupons in the yellow pages, to be used once a month, on a specific day at the store.

They discontinued that practice last fall after concerns that “the store was so crowded on coupon days that it was at risk of losing old, loyal customers and overwhelming those worker/owners who did not thrive on the nonstop adrenaline of working a crowded store,” Mission Local reported in September, 2010.

Will today’s discount day be as or more packed than those monthly discount days used to be? As poor as I am (and I am very, very poor), I’m probably not going to make the trek to check it out.

If you go, though, let us know how it was!
