It’s an endorsement so nice, she said it twice: yesterday, Former SF DA, now Attorney General of CA Kamala Harris voiced her support for current DA George Gascón via Facebook, a message also broadcast from her twitter account.

Despite differing opinions on the death penalty and Gascón’s recent conversion to the left, Harris said in a statement that “George shares my priority of innovation in law enforcement and as San Francisco’s Police Chief, launched smart and sensible reforms to help modernize and advance the department. His management and administrative skills will serve the city well.”

Gascón is running for reelection after being appointed DA to finish Harris’ term when she was elected as CA Attorney General.

Among his major opponents are David Onek, head of Berkeley’s Center for Criminal Justice and Alameda County prosecutor Sharmin Bock.
