When NY Mayor Bloomberg visited SF last week, he released pearls of wisdom like saying Mayor Ed Lee should “pick a police chief whose priority is making the streets safe for residents of San Francisco.” (This inspired one Appeal reader to suggest that Mayor Lee respond “Thank you so much, Mayor Bloomberg! I’d been planning to pick someone whose priority was…Making the streets less safe.”)

In return, Lee apparently gave Bloomberg hot dogs, a SF MoMA membership, and a bunch of golf balls. But not, BART TV notes, a ride from the airport — as you can see in the video above, Bloomberg took BART into SF from SFO, braving, BART notes, the recent NYT report of bacteria on a “random BART seat.”

You’ll note, however, that Bloomberg never, ever takes a seat on the, according to Google, about 30 minute long ride. Maybe he’s not as bacteria-dismissive as all that, after all.
