A 23-year-old man who died this morning in a shooting near San Francisco’s Mint Plaza has been identified as Joshua McClain, according to the medical examiner’s office.

McClain, of Richmond, was shot multiple times by an unidentified man in his 20s on Jessie Street, between Fifth and Sixth streets at about 2 a.m., police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

McClain was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died shortly after the shooting, Andraychak said.

Another victim, a Richmond man in his 20s, was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening, Andraychak said.

A spokesperson was not immediately available this evening to comment on the second victim’s condition.

Police have not reported any arrests in connection to the shooting. Officers are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
