sffd_fire.jpgFirefighters this morning extinguished a small fire burning in the wall of an apartment building in San Francisco’s Hunters Point neighborhood, a dispatch captain said.

It took crews more than an hour to find the source of the fire, which was reported at about 7 a.m. at 1165 Oakland Oakdale Ave., the dispatcher said.

“That’s tough stuff,” he said of the wall fire. “But they did a good job. You don’t want to just tear people’s walls completely apart.”

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire and a damage estimate were not immediately
available.
