A lottery ticket sold in San Francisco is worth more than $290,000 following Tuesday’s drawing, a California Lottery spokesman said today.
The MEGA Millions ticket was purchased at Eastern Newsstand, located at 1 California St. in the city’s Financial District. It matched five of six numbers and is worth $291,031, spokesman Elias Dominguez said.
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing were 16, 23, 35, 26 and 22, with a Mega number of 31. The ticket only missed the Mega number.
Dominguez said the ticket bought in San Francisco was the only one in California to hit five of the six numbers.
MEGA Millions is a multi-state game played twice a week in California and 41 other states. One ticket each in Indiana and Michigan matched all six numbers, and the winners will split the $91 million jackpot, Dominguez said.
People with winning tickets are reminded to sign their ticket, put it in a safe place, and contact lottery officials or visit your local district office as soon as possible.
Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prizes.
