Cupid.jpgDoes Cupid hang out at the library? The San Francisco Public Library seems to think so.

The library is hosting its first-ever “literary speed-dating” events this week in honor of Valentine’s Day, with an event for straight singles tonight.

A second event for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community will be held Wednesday night.

The events, geared toward adults in their 20s and 30s and limited to 36 participants per night, will give couples four or five minutes to interact before shuffling strangers.

Both events will begin with light refreshments at 5:45 p.m. Speed dating begins at 6 p.m.

For those who prefer online dating, the library will host a workshop on how to craft a dynamic online dating profile at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Those looking for love at the library should pre-register for the event by contacting ddrummond@sfpl.org or visiting the Business Science and Technology Center reference desk on the Main Library’s fourth floor.

The library is located at 100 Larkin St.
