extremelede.jpgJust in time for Valentine’s day, the California Academy of Sciences has a love-themed photo contest for you. The Academy is calling for pictures of Academy exhibits, and with five different categories, including land, aquatic, still, family and nightlife, there’s a photo opportunity at every turn.

Entries for the contest must be submitted by Valentine’s day (February 14) to Flickr with the tag “academylovelife”. A panel of photo editors and experts will determine who will receive awards to be bestowed at an upcoming NightLife event.

Five Peoples’ Choice winners will receive a set of award-winning Academy books. One grand prize winner will get the special treat of behind-the-scenes access to the Academy with an Academy expert to photograph their living or scientific collections.

You can get more information and read the official rules here.
